Welcome to TwelveAI: banking as a conversation
Why we are building a conversational banking layer for Africa and how it works under the hood, from USD accounts to multi-agent AI.

Most banking apps are a stack of menus. To send money you tap, then tap, then tap, then confirm. You learn the maze. We think it's time to skip the maze.
TwelveAI is conversational banking. You say what you want, "send ₦5,000 to Tobi", "swap $200 to naira", "create a dollar card with a $1,000 limit", and the AI handles the rest. Verification, confirmation, receipts, history. All in one thread.
What this means in practice
- One surface. Naira transfers, airtime, bills, USD balances, FX swaps, dollar cards, all in the same chat.
- Specialist agents. When a request needs depth (cards, FX, support), a specialist AI agent joins the same thread without losing context.
- Receipts that travel with you. Every transaction generates a downloadable, shareable record, without leaving the conversation.
Why this works for Africa
We are launching in Nigeria first. Two reasons:
- Local payments need local context. Airtime providers, prepaid meters, cable TV, NIBSS rails, these are the everyday rails. Building this well requires deep local plumbing.
- USD is no longer optional. Freelancers, founders, and families need dollar accounts, dollar cards, and reliable FX. We are giving you all three, inside the chat.
What's next
We will be writing here about product decisions, the architecture under the hood, our security model, and what we are learning from real users. If you want to be part of the early wave, join the waitlist, and if you want to build with us, we are hiring.
Welcome.
